The DS3800DPLA1B1A is part of a General Electric (GE) family of turbines called the Speedtronic Mark IV. The DS3800DPLA1B1A board contains a small potentiometer, also known as a variable resistor. The variable resistor has an adjustable screw on the side of the blue square. By adjusting the screws, the operator can control the amount of energy passing through the board. The board also contains leds.

There are three red leds that light up as energy moves around the board. The board consists of seven resistors. Four are connected to the board, colored blue, and the other three are connected to the terminal tower. Each resistor has a separate ribbon that identifies the number of ohms each resistor is capable of handling. The board has a total of six terminal towers. These raised towers have a gold color and include a flat-top screw at the top. These towers allow the efficient exchange of resistors, diodes and capacitors as needed.
